I'm not so sure it's that bad. Yes, there is a larger percentage of low-income workers in Britain when compared to, e.g., Italy. Still, it does not mean Italy is better off. People who would take a low-income job in the UK are excluded from the labour force in Italy. In my view, the more inclusive British approach is better.
